2021 Ford F-150 Raptor Review: Off-Road King

The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor has been on my review bucket list. It has set the bar for factory modified trucks and every other manufacturer  has tried to dethrone the king of off road.

The Velocity Blue color makes this Raptor really stand out. Let's not forget the iconic Raptor grille and side marker lights. At night, they’re menacing to see in your rear view mirror. The massive wheels and tires make the Raptor feel comfortable on paved road while offering great grip in unpaved roads. I was also surprised at how well the brakes were able to get this big truck stopped no matter the road condition. To add to the performance, the suspension’s different modes made sure you’re ready for any terrain. As a personal preference, I liked to have the suspension in sport mode for every day driving. It tightened up the dampers to a better feel than the normal mode that exhibited a bit too much body roll. When I knew i would be driving over badly paved roads, switching it to Baja suspension mode, allowed for a comfortable ride.

You get inside the F-150 Raptor and the more performance aspects follow. The seats are big and wrapped in black leather. They actually might’ve been a bit too big as the bottom cushion kept rubbing against the center console and kept making a squeaking noise. The steering wheel gets the performance treatment of a red top center line and massive paddle shifters. The six overhead Aux power switches had a great tactile feel and sound for any accessories you may want to add to your Raptor.

Even though the Ford Raptor no longer has a V8, the V6 EcoBoost sounded incredible. Putting the exhaust in Baja mode really woke up the engine. Just make sure you use it only in off-road settings only to follow your local noise laws 😉.

The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor was a bucket list review that didn’t disappoint. Even though the Ram TRX has nearly double the power, the Raptor did everything with great balance. This is one truck I’ll always remember.
