Goodguys 15th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals

Goodguys and LMC Truck teamed up to host the 15th Spring Lone Star National at Texas Motor Speedway.
Even though I’ve been to multiple Goodguys shows, I always find new cars and trucks. The variety of things to do will keep everyone entertained.

On the inner south lot of TMS, you had the people showing off their builds they’ve been working all winter on. All the different models and build styles made it tough to find a favorite. I was intrigued by this 1930s Ford pickup that had a show quality finish but with a rat rod feel to it. The owner was able to get my attention with Tiffany blue accents in the engine bay to stand out from the white paint itself.

Heading east to the inner track, the team over at Urban Racing were having a drift exhibition. The entry speeds the drifters were getting for the first turn were fun to see them flick their cars sideways and emit the trail of tire smoke behind them. They would then pull on their hand brakes to change directions and go opposite lock on their steering wheel to make the next turn. I gotta say I was a little partial to the Miatas that were going sideways compared to the the others with high horsepower V8s.

One of the best parts about the Goodguys shows has to be the vendors and shops that attend. This is a warning, keep your money at home because the temptation is hard to overcome! To start, the official Goodguys merch is always a must and I’m an owner of a few of their shirts. For this show, the automotive neon light designs for sale, had me wondering which wall of my garage I can put some of them on.

The team at Pro Touring Texas brought all the big boys out! Their double Chevelle display had me struggling to pick which one I loved more. Their designs of mixing classic and modern components with a track car finish, is what made me wanting to play the lottery to fund one for myself.
