2026 Toyota Supra MkV Final Edition: Farewell for Now
Toyota’s farewell letter to the Supra is this 2026 MkV Final Edition. To start, the exterior the Final Edition has an available Undercover color, which is their matte black color. you’ll need to equip it with the GT4-Style Pack. The GT4-Style Pack would includes the red-painted mirror caps, wind-buffering kit, and GT4 exterior graphics.
To add to the exterior components, you’ll get the carbon fiber front spats and rear ducktail. The matte-black wheels and rear Supra badge finish off the exterior look that the MkV Final Edition gets. I’m glad that I was able to get the loaner Supra with the GR camo car cover. If I personally owned the Supra with that cover, I’d only use it indoors because it’s just too nice to expose it to the outdoor elements.
If you blink getting in, you might miss the badge commemorating that you’ll be 1 of 1300 units produced. Once you’re in, you’re greeted with the black alcantara and leather trimmed sport seats. They get special GR embroidered headrests and my favorite, red seatbelts. I was glad that the last MkV I got to review was equipped with the six-speed manual that gets the special red ring around the knob. I gotta say that the placement of the cupholders, specially with a manual Supra, are really badly placed. With that being said, the cup holder covers were a nice touch to keep the design lines clean.
Under the hood, you’ll still get the 3.0L twin-scroll turbocharged inline 6-cylinder, with 382 horsepower and 368 lb.-ft. of torque. This one was equipped with the 6-speed manual transmission which has better gearing for the inline 6-cylinder. The MkV Final Edition does get you larger front brake rotors, enhanced suspension running, and under bracing to help on track days.
I guess this is my farewell letter to the Supra. Sure at first I was just like every internet critic saying it’s crazy that a BMW engine would be under the hood. Of course it shut me up when I got in and floored it for the first time. There was also the early years of automatic only offerings and Toyota standing fairly strong. Thankfully they gave in and added the third pedal and definitely the best option to go with. The first time I drove the manual, was actually at a media track day and got out with the biggest smile I could’ve ever had. I’ve driven many sports cars and the MkV Supra will have that feel many brands try to engineer.
So what’s next? Some time as Toyota has said that there will be a gap between the 2026 MY and what will surely be labeled the MkVI. Toyota has been quoted saying that they will not be outsourcing the engine. If they decide to stick to the inline 6-cylinder configuration, it will need to be an all new design, since there is no option with that configuration in their lineup. Well Supra MkV, thank you for the memories we shared both on the street, and on the track. This is farewell for now.
