2026 Hyundai iONIQ 9 Review: Space for Everyone

The 2026 Hyundai iONIQ 9 proves that some brands still let their designers have fun. Even though the iONIQ 9 does appear to still stay within the box of design, it’s the elements inside that are different, unique, and fun.

Although the Cyber Gray color can be called the typical millennial gray, it offers the other accents of the iONIQ 9 to stand out. The top square light design is what I call the faux headlights, since the true headlights reside vertically in the lower part of the front. When you look at the side profile of the iONIQ 9, you do get a sense of a minivan. I do like the line towards the rear quarter panel that gives the illusion of a wide body

Getting into the iONIQ 9, the dark green and white interior gives a retro feel with a modern twist. In the majority of lighting, the dark green will show as gray unless the sun is directly shining on it. The seats were incredibly comfortable with heating, venting, massage, and their relaxation mode which reclines them for those charging times. The 3 rows can easily fit the largest of passengers and still offers a surprisingly good amount of cargo space.

Under the hood, you’ll find a frunk that’ll fit your charger and the optional vehicle load adapter to use the iONIQ 9 as your electrical power source. As for the powertrain, this Calligraphy AWD trim offered a dual motor system outputting 422 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Even though this EV is weighing in at 6,008 lbs, the 0-60 of 4.55 seconds was extremely impressive!

Overall, if you’re looking for an EV people hauler that looks unique, is comfortable, and can move quickly, the 2026 Hyundai iONIQ 9 Calligraphy is hard to beat.
