2025 Hyundai Elantra N Review: Every Day Track Car

Having the 2025 Hyundai Elantra N for a week, meant it was going to be an engaging week.
This is the 3rd time I’ve had an Elantra N for a week and I gotta say, I did not mind at all. With this 2025, Hyundai had no changes from the 2024 model so if you can somehow find one, you might be able to save a few bucks. I wanted to discuss some of the tools that this sedan has, to make it from a commuter, to a track car.
Starting with the outside, the N trim gets specific front and rear fascias, unique side sill moldings, and a wing-type rear diffuser.
On the inside, you’ll get to experience the sporty N Light Sport bucket seats with illuminated N logo. They’re leather-trimmed with Alcantara and were great to keep you in place when you hit the turns. The steering wheel offers programable N buttons that offer things like custom drive modes or the track ready N Mode. Once in N Mode, you can activate the RPM for the launch control, shift light, and even a GPS lap timer for a long list of tracks.
What makes the Elantra N so special, is the drivetrain and how all the components work so well. Starting with the engine, the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, delivers 276 horsepower and 289 lb.-ft. of torque. That power is accepted by the 8-speed wet dual clutch automatic transmission, and then distributed to the front wheels by their N corner carving differential. The electronically controlled suspension was exceptional at providing feedback of the road surface.
Overall, the Hyundai Elantra N was fun to have for the third time. Having driven the more civilized Limited trim, the Elantra platform really lends itself to be a luxury drive, as well as an aggressive track star.
