Quick Look- 2020 Nissan Titan V8

While we attended the Texas Truck Rodeo, hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association, Nissan had a preproduction model of their 2020 Nissan Titan V8. The big and bold new front grille grabbed our attention and decided to ask Sheri, Nissan’s product specialist, to let us know what’s new with the Titan.

We began with the front redesign that will vary between trim models to be able to distinguish between them. Behind the front end is the standard 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 gasoline engine. Power has been increased to 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque (versus the previous 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque). The power then gets transferred to a new 9-speed automatic transmission compared to last year’s 7-speed. The additional gears allowed for a more linear power delivery between gears.

It’s incredible the amount of technology that pickup trucks are including. The new 2020 Titan is no exception with the addition of Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology, a suite of six advanced driver-assist systems including class-exclusive Rear Automatic Braking, as a standard feature. A new 9” infotainment screen is where you’ll be able to control both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™.

We hope to get our hands on one of these once their available in early 2020, to put it to the test and provide you with a full review.
