2026 Acura Integra A-Spec Review: Daily Fun
Driving the 2026 Acura Integra A-Spec gave me a sense of nostalgia of Acura’s golden years. Although this isn’t the flag-ship Type R trim, it was reminding me of the GS-R of the previous generations that gained a cult following of its own.
Starting on the outside, the Double Apex Blue offered an attention grabbing color to sleek lines of the Integra. If you choose either the Double Apex Blue or the Performance Red Pearl, you’ll get the color-matched grille. If you’re not a fan, don’t worry, you’ll have the option of getting either color with the black colored grille. For 2026, the A-Spec models add a new aero body kit in a gloss black color to frame the lower part of the Integra. I prefer the standard 18” black wheels compared to the premium 19” offerings for the A-Spec. Of course Type S does get the best choice of all of them, with the 19” copper-finish alloys.
Getting in, the Orchid interior is the Integra’s white interior offering. You’ll get blue accents that were a great match to the exterior color. Add in blue stitching, and baseball mitt-style stitching, you’ll start to wonder if this is a high end luxury vehicle. The 9-inch touchscreen is available on all trims and the Tech Package had the Acura ELS Studio Premium Audio with a total of 16 speakers to make you feel your music. You’ll keep your interior tidy now that all Integras offer wireless connectivity and wireless charging.
Under the hood, the 1.5L VTEC turbocharged 4-cylinder is delivering 200 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque. That power is going through the 6-speed manual, and then sorted to the front wheels via a limited slip differential. The power band of the Integra was fun with the max torque being delivered from 1800-5000 RPMs, and then the VTEC kicking in around 5,500 with the peak horsepower being at 6000. Having the plateau torque delivery makes it great for off the line acceleration and highway passing. The VTEC up top give a feeling of a second wind of power kicking in. Having the limited slip differential helped distribute the power to the correct wheels in the corner, and was impressive at how much the grip could be pushed.
After my week with the 2026 Acura Integra A-Spec, I was having flashbacks of the Integra GS-R of the late 90s and early 2000s. Everything came together to deliver a great package not just for fun, but a civilized daily driver, which I believe has been the intention of the Integra’s spirit.
