2025 Lexus LX 700h Overtrail Review: Ultimate Luxury Off Roader

It was only a matter of time till Lexus gave its flagship SUV the popular off-road treatment. That is what the 2025 Lexus LX 700h Overtrail is, and I was excited to get to drive it. The previous generation LX was my first press vehicle to cross the $100,000 price point. Nowadays, that seems to be the norm for manufacturer and not have the value the LX offers.

Starting with the outside, the Earth color is a shade of mud that begs to get dirty. Although it is a more muted color, it does stand out with the help of the black grille, wheels, and trim. The triple beam headlights really helped light the way when I got caught in a severe thunderstorm. The LX’s strong but finessed lines really add to it’s beautiful design.

Getting in, the Stone Brown leather interior complimented the exterior Earth color. It’s unfortunate that if you opt for the Nori Green exterior, which is my favorite, your only option is a rather mundane full black interior. Either way, get ready to to enjoy comfortable seating with heating and venting options, as well as massaging. I was able to cool my water bottles in the Cool Box to combat the 100 degree Texas weather. With all the screens and buttons in the LX, you’ll want to take some time to know where everything is located and the sequences of some of the drivetrain options.

Under the hood, the 3.4L twin turbo V6 hybrid was delivering 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. The 10-speed automatic was perfectly tuned to make the most of the power curve, and then delivered it to the the full-time four-wheel-drive system. The Overtrail trim comes with triple lockers to get you out of the toughest terrain. The air suspension will help with everyday things like squeezing into a low garage or getting in and out of the LX. Take it on tough terrain, and the suspension shines to deliver a smooth ride on tough terrain.

Overall, If I had the $118,510 that this 2025 Lexus LX 700h Overtrail cost, you’d see me at the dealership doing paperwork. Now I understand that using a vehicle that costs over $100k for off-roading is insane, but it is a vehicle that offers what it costs.
