Audi Club Lonestar Meet at COTA

COTA Quattro sessions

We've been supporting members of Audi Club Lone Star(ACLS) for almost 5 years, and were pleased to find out this year's state meet would feature some track driving at COTA during an Edge Addicts private track day. Audi Club Lone Star was set to host the Audi Club North America national meet here in Austin, but with Covid-19 the event was cancelled. The ACLS board decided to put together a much smaller event to ensure social distancing guidelines be followed.

We asked ourselves, what activity provides copious amounts of adrenaline while promoting social distancing? The answer to this question is definitely track time. The ACLS state meet attendees who opted for the track day were mostly signed up in the Intro To Track (Blue) group which provided each driver an instructor for their sessions. We did have a few members with previous track experience sign up for the EA Intermediate (Yellow) group.

COTA is not an easy track for new drivers and can take a toll on your vehicle. All of the drivers made sure to do their homework on the track layout and command flags. They also had to ensure their vehicles were track prepped by completing tech inspections. You'll be surprised what can happen to a set of Pilot Sports or to DOT 4 brake fluid in a 20 minute COTA session.

Judging by our photos, our members had a blast on track. If you're in Texas and an Audi enthusiast, please check out Audi Club Lone Star via the following social channels.
